Beauty lurks in unexpected placesbeauty
hoarfrost springs from a
shriveled red berry beneath a
subzero sky

Beauty hovers at wood’s edge
speckled fawn twitching
elegant ears, blinks slowly in
dappled sunshine.

Beauty hides behind dark clouds
sunrise stretches fingers out
across the water filled with
snowy geese.

Beauty peeks from angry eyes,
of a girl too young to carry life’s
burdens on slender shoulders,
itching to escape

Beauty manifests hope as a
young man reaches out a hand tobeauty
help the competition to
his feet.

Glimpses of beauty come in myriad
shapes and sizes, to
those who live in wide-eyed
expectation and wonder.

May I seek beauty as a song of
praise to the One who
created it instead of lamenting
winter’s hold.

May I fix my eyes on the One who
created beauty that I may
see it in others when anger
blinds me.

Do You Struggle to See it?beauty

Do you ever struggle to see the beauty in things? The hard times, the difficult days, the situations that seem to never end? I know I do. But this verse has helped me a lot over the years.

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
