HannonAnother Sweet Read from Irene Hannon

I love it when an author can change gears successfully to a different genre. Irene Hannon has done just that with her latest release, Pelican Point. The story takes place in the seashore town of Hope Harbor, Oregon. She has written two previous stories in the Hope Harbor series, Sandpiper Cover and Sea Rose Lane.I've always loved Irene Hannon's suspense novels, so this sweet romance came as a pleasant surprise. Don't miss Hannon's newest book in the Hope Harbor series, #PelicanPoint #NetGalley

In Pelican Point: A Hope Harbor Novel we meet Dr. Ben Garrison, ex-army orthopedic surgeon, who returns to his grandfather’s hometown when he learns of his grandfather’s unexpected death. Even more unexpected? His grandfather bequeathed him the run down lighthouse at Pelican Point. Ben had mustered out of the army and planned to buy into a thriving practice in Ohio. His plans seemed perfect. Until he met the fiery redhead who owns Hope Harbor’s biweekly newspaper.

While Marci Weber has only lived in Hope Harbor for two years, it feels like home. When her great-aunt bequeathed her a house on the outskirts of town, Marci decided a change of pace and a new focus would help heal the trauma she’d experienced at a big city PR firm. She doesn’t trust her judgement, or anyone who knocks on her door late at night. She and Ben get off to a rocky start. Their love for Ben’s late grandpa is about the only thing they agree on.

Quirky characters populate the town and a strong secondary storyline helps keep the plot moving. I’m most familiar with Hannon’s suspense novels, so a sweet romance with a hint of suspense was a pleasant surprise.

Hannon also masters the light touch of telling the story from a Christian world-view without seeming heavy-handed. I would share this book with anyone who loves a good romance, regardless of her faith.
