Five Hacks for Forming Habits
Once you’ve figured out why you want to set goals (whether long-term or short-term), you’ll want to figure out if your short-term goals fall into the habit or achievement categories. You may need a different approach for each kind of short-term goal.
In this week’s podcast, I talk about some common myths of habit-forming and give you five hacks for forming good habits. I used to give up rather easily on the habit-forming front because when I tried and failed, I thought I had to start all over again. I know better now!
For years I’ve struggled to form the habit of taking my iron pill each evening. What habits have you struggled to form? Some habits seem so much easier to incorporate in my life than others. I discovered the reasons for the disparity.
Forming new habits doesn’t have to take hours of your day or suck up your emotional energy. I’m pretty stoked that my new iron-pill-taking-habit has stuck with me even though I’m not at home and my iron pills aren’t set next to my trigger. For me, that means I really have formed a new habit!
