Have you ever thought about setting emotional health goals? And what’s the difference between emotional health and mental health? Find out in today’s Self-Care Hacks podcast.
Why Should You Set Emotional Health Goals?
Good question! For most of my life, I didn’t even know the difference between mental health and emotional health, much less why I needed to set goals for either.
As we all try to take care of ourselves and become the best version of us, we realize that in certain situations, we seem to blow it. every. single. time. We allow the same. exact. thing. to annoy us over and over again. Chances are, we haven’t taken the time to analyze our emotions. And we certainly have never taken the time to set emotional health goals.
For example, I hated it when my kids or husband used to ask me, “What’s for dinner?” Half the time it irritated me because based on the clues in the kitchen, a casual observer would know. The other half of the time the question irritated me because I didn’t know what we’d eat in 30 minutes.
And a small part of me probably resented that I always had to fix dinner. Sure, Pedro always made breakfast, but I never asked him what we were having. It’s a quirk I have, obviously.
I did know I didn’t like my reaction. Now that I’ve taken the time to set some emotional health goals, I understand how I can deal with my reaction and change it to something better. Listen to this week’s podcast to find out how you can prepare yourself to set emotional health goals today!

Isn’t it interesting to look back on the things that irk’d us? Now? Rarely do I get miffed – except of course when you-know-who washes his hands in the kitchen sink and sprays water EVERYWHERE. Did I just say that!!!!
