Often, when faced with a crisis, we resort to tossing prayers heavenward and hoping for the best. I know. I’ve done this. But how would things be different if you worked to take care of yourself spiritually during times of crisis and uncertainty?
Why You Need to Take Care of Yourself Spiritually
Learning to take care of yourself spiritually is just as important as learning to take care of yourself mentally, emotionally, artistically, or physically. For me, spiritual self-care has nothing to do with church attendance. Hey, I’m an introvert–for extroverts, church may play a bigger role.
Spiritual self-care does have a lot to do with my personal relationship with God. I’ve made a habit of spending time with him daily (usually early in the morning). The relationship has provided me with the strength to face all kinds of crises: job loss, cancer, mental health issues with family members, depression, and financial reversals.
In today’s podcast I share a story of one of the most powerful moments in my walk with God. I hope you enjoy hearing a little bit more about my faith journey and the reason I believe you should take care of yourself spiritually.
I’d love to hear from you. How do you take care of yourself spiritually during the good times, and how does this help you during times of crisis?
