Unfortunately, family plus the holidays often equals drama. These self-care hacks for avoiding family drama will help you have a happier holiday season.
Avoiding Family Drama Over the Holidays Takes a Little Planning
Holidays plus relatives equals drama. Well, it equals drama if you don’t take proactive steps to avoiding family drama before it begins. Whether you’re fifteen or fifty-five, you probably can envision your holiday get together script in your head. The same old jokes, the same old arguments, and everyone wondering why they try to get along. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Healthy self-care includes setting boundaries in your life and helping your family members learn to set boundaries, too. No, you don’t have to take on the burden of making sure everyone gets along, but you can make things easier for yourself and your immediate family with a little preparation. Today’s podcast offers six hacks for avoiding family drama during the holidays (or any time you gather together).
You won’t find a magic bullet, but you will find actionable steps to help change your holiday script.
