I didn’t expect life to throw me a curveball this year. I don’t even like baseball. But the first two months of the year have left me struggling. When life throws us curveballs, we still have choices.
COVID Was a Piece of Cake
COVID-19 hits everyone differently. I fell into the fortunate few category of having a low-grade fever, achy joints, and no energy. The fever lasted a few days and the achy joints and energy loss lasted longer. And then I got the first COVID vaccine. I work at a school, and I’ll do anything to have in-person, maskless interaction with my kids. The first vaccine gave me a low-grade fever for 36 hours, and took two days to recover from. Almost as bad as COVID, but not for as long.
And then life threw me some curveballs. I just crawled into my office to schedule this podcast. Walking isn’t an option right now, and my arms are tired from using crutches all day.
What Do YOU Do When Life Throws You Curveballs?
I’ve learned over the years I have two choices on how to handle unexpected events. I can let those curveballs knock me out of the game, or I can choose to have a positive attitude. As a competitive person, I don’t like getting knocked out of games, so I choose to own my attitude. In today’s podcast I share what works for me. I’d love to hear what you do when life throws you curveballs!

Come Back Next Week
Next week I really will share why it’s important to teach your kids about growth mindset. For your sake and theirs.
