How to Pick a Hobby You’ll Love

Everyone needs a hobby. If you don’t believe me, check out last week’s podcast episode. But some people feel overwhelmed by the possibilities. My husband thinks fixing my 2007 FJ Cruiser qualifies as a hobby, and I don’t complain. But I would find it tedious work (not to mention confusing and frustrating). I love birding, but Pedro can only handle an hour or two at a time every three or four months. Me? I can spend a whole week exploring out-of-the-way places for rare or new-to-me birds.

Pedro has loved tinkering with vehicles his entire life. I started birding about ten years ago. We never know which avocations or hobbies we’ll love until we try them out. Picking a hobby you love will ensure you dedicate enough time to it so you can reap the benefits of having a hobby.
