I confess, I used to giggle when I saw RVs lined up in the back forty of the local Walmart parking lot. Why in the world would anyone choose camping in a Walmart parking lot over a quieter, more serene location? I laughed and giggled before we purchased an RV. When our girls and I traveled from Montana to Chicago to visit the American Girl Place and have tea with their dolls, I suddenly understood the attraction.
Even though a friend and her daughter drove along with us, I loved the security of parking in a well-lit area. We parked in a school parking lot when we arrived in Chicago, and it didn’t offer the security of camping in a Walmart parking lot.
