I’m thrilled you’ve agreed to let me interview you for the Self-Care Hacks podcast! These details will help make your interview a smashing success.

Before We Begin
Thank you for your willingness to be interviewed for the Self-Care Hacks podcast, where we provide actionable steps (hacks) to help busy people overcome the overwhelm in their lives. You know, stress, busy schedules, life, and all that comes with it.
I follow the MAPS model of self-care. In order to have a balanced self-care life (and without proper self-care, we burn out faster), I encourage listeners to learn how to take care of themselves Mentally, Academically & Artistically, Physically, and Spiritually. For me, self-care is more than just a run in the park, indulging in some ice-cream, or booking a massage. It’s a systematic way of life that nourishes the most important aspects of our lives.
That’s where YOU come in! Your experience and expertise can help other busy people get their self-care plan on track. The hacks you offer during the interview may be just the spark a weary traveler through life needs to hear in order to make a commitment to self-care.
As Soon as You Book an Interview with Me
Please do the following as soon as you book an interview with me. This will help me prepare the social media information and graphics for the upcoming podcast so I can share them with you before your interview goes live (I prerecord everything and lightly edit the podcast to remove the ‘ums,’ deadspaces, and bloopers).
- A current headshot.
- Your current biography (200 words or less).
- Your social media handles.
- A brief list of self-care hacks you want to share with my audience. I’ll use these as prompts for questions during the interview.
- You phone number on the off-chance I need to call or text you.
A Word About Sound
These tips will help with sound quality during our interview. You don’t have to have a fancy podcasting setup, either.
1. We’ll do the interview on Zoom.us. Don’t worry, you don’t need to prepare anything, just click on the link below and it will load up our conference room.2. Please get ready to click the Zoom link at least five minutes in advance of our meeting start. We don’t have a lot of time and I want to make sure we give you the full 30 minutes to show how great you are at what you do :).
3. Again, so we can make sure you come across totally brilliant to my audience, we want to make sure the audio quality is great.
- Avoid noisy, crowded rooms. As much as I love coffee shops, they don’t work well for interviews.
- Use an external microphone.
- If you don’t have an external microphone, wear Apple earbuds or AirPods, or another type of headphone that has a microphone attached.
- I’ll record the AUDIO, not the video. Do have the video enabled, though, so we can have a more personable experience.
- Close things that ding–for example, mail programs that alert you to new emails or chat sessions.
4. If you need to re-schedule or cancel, no worries at all–life happens! Just click the ‘reschedule/cancel’ link in this email. Please do use it if you need to. I’d rather reschedule than miss the opportunity to interview you.
That’s it for now! I look forward to chatting with you. I’ll shoot you an email reminder the day before the interview and another one an hour or two before we start.
Thank you for your willingness to help your fellow travelers overcome the overwhelm!
