Who doens’t love treasure hunts? Or hunts for criminals? These two historical inspy new releases have both!

Treasure Hunts? Yes, Please!
There’s nothing I loved more than a good treasure hunt when I was a kid–even if we only hunted for imaginary treasure. Protagonists in these two new releases search for treasure on islands off the coast of England as well as in trash heaps in London’s poorest district.
Worthy of Legend
By Roseanne M. White, Bethany House, September 2022, 367 pages.
Lady Emily Scofield has never felt worthy. Her father belittles her, her brother plays cruel tricks on her, and her mother hasn’t responded to her letters for the past few months. Even though it’s 1906 and no longer Medieval times, Emily’s father sees her as a matrimonial pawn to increase his wealth and standing. Emily wants more than that.
When her father cuts off her allowance to force her to comply with his wishes, Emily learns how to trust in God and economize—two skills her family never taught her. For the first time in her life, Emily learns to trust people who deserve her trust and respect—even if they don’t belong to her same social class.
Bram Sinclair, the Earl of Telford, has loved all things King Arthur. He loves the mystery, the chivalry, and the pageantry of the Arthurian legends. He hides his passion well, and only his closest friends know his secret. To the world, he seems like a languid lord of the manor.
As his summer treasure hunting with his friends on the Isles of Scilly unfolds, Bram slowly realizes his feelings for Emily. When he overhears a private conversation, Bram understands how he can help in a quiet, unobtrusive way. But as the level of danger increases as unscrupulous men hunt for the same treasure, Bram must find ways to protect Emily. The closer he grows to her, the more he admires her selfless love.
When the time comes, will he internalize the ideal of selfless love, or will he fall prey to the lust for fame and fortune that drives so many?
