Black bear

Photos from lessons I’ve learned along the route from Arizona to Alaska.

This month I’ll be traveling a lot, and I’m choosing to focus on family, friends, and unfinished projects. I’ll post a photo essay each Sunday for the Inspire Me Monday link-up, but I won’t post any new podcasts this month. Thank you for sticking by!

Lessons Learned Along the Route

Good is good. All the time. I lost a wheel a few hours into my trip along the route from Arizona to Alaska. Kind people towed me to a local shop, fixed my wheel, and got me back on the road with only a three-hour delay. If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram, you’ll see more photos and short videos. One of the most restful times of year is my annual drive to Alaska, and I relish stopping and taking photos along the way.

Stone Sheep
Goat or sheep? People often get confused because stone sheep don’t look like domesticated ones.
Moose in muddy stream
Canada is full of pristine streams. You’ll also find muddy bogs with moose hanging out. Just keep moving.
Mama grizzly and cubs
When Mama’s napping, don’t try to wake her up. This mama had great patience, but she wasn’t happy.
Black bear
Stay alert to danger, but don’t freak out.
Baby wood bison
Take time to hang out with your family and friends. Rest in each other’s presence.
Grizzly bear
Take time to observe and rest. Self-care is important, whether you’re a grizzly or a gal
