Do Men Really Lose Weight Easily?
Everyone’s body works differently, and the quickest path to discouragement on a health journey begins with comparing ourselves with others. Now that I’ve shared my lofty thoughts, I’ll confess I struggle with this concept. Men seem to lose weight easily, and women seem to struggle. I know it’s true in my family. I remember my grandpa making jokes about his girlish figure. He ate whatever he wanted to and remained tall and thin. We call my father, now in his 80s, our human garbage disposal because he always happily ate everyone else’s leftovers. And he never gains weight. But the women in my family? Looking a food seems to equal ingesting it.
In today’s episode, I’ll share some of the reasons why we need to stop comparing ourselves to others and not give up hope because men seem to lose weight easily while women have to work really hard. Above all, remember your health journey is YOURS, and it will never look exactly like someone else’s journey. We can learn from others, but since God knit each of us together differently, the results won’t turn out the same.

It does seem like a majority of men lose weight faster – but not everybody. It’s true God made each differently. I do wish He’d made me with a body that didn’t gain weight, but I’m pretty healthy so I try not to complain. I’ll be interested to hear the podcast and see if ther is something I can do to improve.
