You need to prioritize your health now, while you still have life left in you. It doesn’t matter how far you’ve wandered from a vibrant, healthy, you.
It’s Never too Late to Prioritize Your Health
It doesn’t matter how out of shape, overweight, undernourished, skinny obese, inflexible, unhealthy, or sick you are right now. It’s never too late to prioritize your health (unless you’re dead). My trip down the overweight, unhealthy, unmotivated, and slightly depressed road didn’t happen overnight. It took years of failing to care for myself during the baby and toddler years. Add on a bent towards inaction (I’d rather read than exercise) and a love for good food, and you have the perfect recipe for finding excuses not to prioritize my health.
I had undiagnosed health problems in my late thirties, and during my research, I discovered a term that struck terror in my heart: Fat, fair, and forty. The term applied to the physical makeup of women most likely to suffer from gallstones. But it also applied to me (almost). I also realized I could barely hike a mile without huffing and puffing. My body seemed to fail me for the first time in my life.
No matter what point you find yourself at, it’s never too late to prioritize your health. You don’t have to start by making huge changes. Don’t go vegetarian or vegan, or start training for a marathon. Small changes and baby steps in the right direction will serve you much better.

Anita, I so appreciate your reminder that it’s not too late to start taking better care of ourselves. It took me until the lockdown to establish discipline in exercising. I was in my early 50’s at that point. I’m feeling better now, knowing that I’m doing what I can to care for myself.
